We're gathering 500 hygiene kits for homeless people and rough sleepers around London

EMERGENCY HYGIENE KITS

We want to act fast, as there's many people still in the street with barely any access to facilities, and want to support them in going through the pandemic with dignity.

Help us with donations of key items, or donate through our fundraiser here: https://tinyurl.com/yaaqdvas or to safe the GoFundMe Fees of almost 4% transfer into the specifically set up Monzo Account: Claudia Stachelhaus, 07959863, 04-00-04

THE SITUATION

Although the government ordered the councils to help homeless people get off the streets and house them in hotels, the reality is that there are still many homeless people in the streets who are exposed to the virus.

Many drop-in centres, public toilets, cafes and shops with facilities have closed. The people on the street are struggling to get access to showers, toilets, or even drinking water.

THE EMERGENCY PLAN

-Provide 500 emergency kits (within 4 weeks maximum, quicker if possible)

-By purchasing items with the money raised, and gather donations of items from individuals and businesses
-Distribute kits to rough sleepers directly and through the various daily food banks and soup kitchens in Hackney
and wider London
-We aim to assemble 125 kits a week, the first batch by Sunday 10th of May

How you can help!

Make a donation: Remember one kit costs around 5£
Encourage others to donate in your network + share on social media
Gather donations of items around you (we can organise within reasonable distance)
Tidy your bathroom drawer – do you really need all thos travel kits and hotel shampoo?
Start a collection point in your building (we can provide an information poster)
Pick up some items during your next shop (Lidl has good prices on toiletries)
Speak to your local pharmacy, supermarket or corner shop – try to get donations from them

Do you have a connection to wholesalers, supermarkets or brands?
Reach-out to them, and let us know if they accept so we can arrange logistics
