Emergency Hygiene Kits Appeal
We're gathering 500 hygiene kits for homeless people and rough sleepers around London
EMERGENCY HYGIENE KITS
We want to act fast, as there's many people still in the street with barely any access to facilities, and want to support them in going through the pandemic with dignity.
Help us with donations of key items, or donate through our fundraiser here: https://tinyurl.com/yaaqdvas or to safe the GoFundMe Fees of almost 4% transfer into the specifically set up Monzo Account: Claudia Stachelhaus, 07959863, 04-00-04
THE SITUATION
Although the government ordered the councils to help homeless people get off the streets and house them in hotels, the reality is that there are still many homeless people in the streets who are exposed to the virus.
Many drop-in centres, public toilets, cafes and shops with facilities have closed. The people on the street are struggling to get access to showers, toilets, or even drinking water.
-By purchasing items with the money raised, and gather donations of items from individuals and businesses
-Distribute kits to rough sleepers directly and through the various daily food banks and soup kitchens in Hackney
and wider London
-We aim to assemble 125 kits a week, the first batch by Sunday 10th of May

Just a quick update all- as I got some money directly into my account, 600£ have been raised so far. Should be enough for 100 kits- speaking to some suppliers as well in the hope for donations or at least good prices. Problem is just that bulk is always cheaper- so will make some decisions by Wednesday- please do donate generously- and get in touch if you know suppliers or have some spare soaps from travelling or wipes or anything else. Sure we find a way of delivery.
